An international conference entitled "Translating Power, Empowering Translation: Itineraries in Translation History" will be held in the Tallinn University Conference Centre from 24-26 May.
The conference will be organized by the Tallinn University Institute of Germanic and Romance Languages and Cultures in collaboration with the Department of English, Institute of Germanic, Romance and Slavonic Languages, the University of Tartu, and the Estonian Representation of the European Commission in the framework of the Estonian Science Foundation grant "Translators (Re)shaping Culture Repertoire".
The keynote speaker is Professor Lawrence Venuti who will also deliver a public lecture entitled "Genealogies of Translation Theory: Locke and Schleiermacher". The lecture will be held in auditorium M-218 (TU Mare building, Uus-Sadama 5) on Thursday, 24 May at 16:30.
