BFM Children Film School

A few decades ago film directors were speaking to us stories, nowadays this language can be used by grown-ups and children alike. Digital Culture is characterized by visual and sound expression and imagery.

The goal of the BFM Children Film School is to develop creativity, visual literacy and media awareness in children by teaching them different values. In the learning process child becomes a researcher, explorer and experimenter.

BFM Children Film School aims to teach children in ages from 6 to 16 the following:

  • skills in audiovisual storytelling
  • introduce different creative professions and BFM as well  
  • to rise the value of Digital Culture, eg. ethical values by chidlren creating themselves different media components (shortfilm, TV-news, social advertisement etc).
  • Produce wiser and safer consumers of digital media

BFM Children Film School is a joint project between the following colleges of Tallinn University: Institute of Educational Sciences, Centre for Innovation in Education and NGO Avastusõpe - Learning by Discovering.
