Jeremy Kagan's Directing Intensive Course at BFM

Professor Jeremy Kagan, an internationally known film and television director held a five-day Directing Intensive course at BFM. Kagan has been the directing track head at The School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California where he teaches directing courses at the graduate school and runs The Change Making Media Lab www.cmml-usc.org. He is also the author of three books on directing including the new interactive eTextbook – Keys to Directing www.keystodirecting.com

We asked him some questions:

What impression did you get from our university, our film studio and production opportunities?
I felt that the space and facilities were appropriate to doing good work.

What do you think about the people who were in the training?
I was impressed with their openness to new ideas and the concentration and willingness to experiment and therefor learn by doing. The group was talented and some passionate about what they are doing.

I have done this workshop in a variety of cultures and I felt the training here was particularly effective and successful. And it was fun!

What do you think about Estonian television?
Don't know enough though I did watch some in my hotel room - but I couldn't really tell much.

Would you visit Estonia again?
