The third conference in the series is dedicated to the memory of Jaak Põldmäe (1942-1979), a distinguished Estonian scholar of poetry, to commemorate his 75th anniversary. Jaak Põldmäe created a coherent theory of Estonian verse and axiomatic typology of verse forms. He was the first in Estonian versification studies to use the statistical methods to test his observations and hypotheses. His works have influenced studies of verse in and outside Estonia.
