Travelling to Tallinn
The only international airport is in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. There is good air connection between Tallinn and other European countries. Further information on airport website: www.tallinn-airport.ee . Tallinn can also be reached by ferry from Helsinki and Stockholm. The Old City Harbour is situated right in the city centre. How to get to Tallinn City Centre?
Please note that there will be NO transportation arranged by the organisers.
From the Tallinn Airport
To get to the Tallinn University from the Airport, we kindly suggest you to take a taxi. There are taxies available in front of the Airport building. Since Tallinn Airport is fairly small you will easily see the taxies waiting in front of the arrivals gate. The cost of taxi drive to the Tallinn University should be approximately 13 EUR. About the same rate applies when driving to one of the pre-booked hotels (Park Inn Central or Nordic Hotel Forum).
You can also use public transportation. The airport’s bus stop is located in front of the terminal of arrivals.Bus No. 2 travels on the route Mõigu - Passenger Port. In the city centre the bus stops next to Viru Keskus at A. Laikmaa Street.
Tickets are sold by the bus driver upon entering the bus. Tickets are available also from the R-Kiosk in the Passenger Terminal. The ticket costs 1.6 EUR when bought from the driver and will grant you the right for one ride.

From the airport to the city, find schedule named ''Moigu-Reisisadam'' where the bus stop ''Lennujaam'' means the Airport.
There is Airport Shuttle service available at Tallinn Airport. Price for 1-7 people to the city centre is 18 EUR. Price for further destinations are subject to agreement. As a means of payment cash and credit cards are accepted. In order to save time it is recommended to pre-order your transfer by sending an e-mail to info....at....airporttransfer.ee
From the Port of Tallinn
To get from the harbour to the Tallinn University you should take a taxi. You can find taxies in front of the harbour building (and if you can’t find one, please turn to the information desk). The taxi drive to Tallinn University should cost approximately 7 EUR.
Public transportation in Tallinn
Public transportation in Tallinn is by buses, trams and trolley buses. The cost of a single ticket is 1 EUR if previously bought from the kiosk. Tickets can also be purchased from the bus/tram drivers, they cost 1, 6 EUR. Tickets are valid only if punched on board.
PS! You can also buy a 24h ticket that costs €3, but you will need a Public Transport Card for that, which can be bought from R-kiosks by the terminal. More information about public transport can be found HERE.
Cost of taxi is approximately 0, 55 EUR /per kilometre + starting fare 2,88 EUR. Most of the taxis do not accept payments by card.

The taxi fares may slightly vary depending on the traffic and company. Please note that most of the taxies accept only cash payments, therefore you should change some money in advance, or do it at the currency exchange points (there are exchange points at the airport and at the harbour).

You will be able to access the free network connection called TLU in Tallinn University campus. Most of the cafes in town have free internet connection. All the hotel rooms also have WIFI.
Passport and Visa
A valid passport is required to enter Estonia. Please make sure that your passport is valid until at least 3 months after your departure date from Estonia. Citizens of European Union countries do not need a visa to enter Estonia. Check the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website if you are in any doubt. There you will find the latest information about visas and details of Estonian embassies abroad, where they can be obtained.
Estonian Time and Weather
Estonia is in the Eastern European Time Zone: GMT + 3 hours during the Daylight Savings Time in summer. The weather is usually pleasant in June with average daily temperatures between 13 - 21ºC. You might think that Estonia is all about cold, but there are sunny days too! However, at night it might get cool and rain is usual. Therefore, light comfortable clothes are ideal during the day and a jacket may be required for evenings. If you plan on going on one or more of the trips we have planned for you, then make sure you bring a pair of comfortable, water proof shoes.

Currency, Banks, Credit Cards

Upon arrival to Estonia you can find exchange points in airport, railway station, harbour and bus station.
Shops are usually open from 10.00 until 18.00 on weekdays and on weekends. Larger department stores are open between 9.00 and 21.00.
Best shopping facilities in Tallinn can be found in the city center: Stockmann, Tallinn Kaubamaja, Viru Keskus etc. Many nice boutiques and handicrafts galleries can be found in the Old Town around Raekoja Square.
