Record Amount of Applications to International Programmes

The admission period for the 27 international study programmes offered by Tallinn University is now over. Students from abroad submitted 909 applications, whereas last year TU received 462 applications. Thus, the interest in Tallinn University and our international programmes is bigger than ever.

“Developing studies in the English language is one of the strategic goals of Tallinn University and the ever-increasing number of applications shows that we are on the right path with developing old and creating new programmes,” said Tiit Land, Rector of Tallinn University.

Among the 909 applications, 458 were submitted to BA studies, 360 to Master’s and 91 to our PhD programmes.

The most popular programmes were Law, and Politics and Governance in BA, International Relations and Communication Management in MA, and Information Society Technologies and Government and Politics in PhD studies.

This year, Tallinn University also offered two brand new programmes in English – Estonian Studies and Literature, Visual Culture and Film Studies. The former received 19 applications, while 43 people applied for the latter.

The most applications came from Finnish students (122), followed by Nigeria (99), Bangladesh (65) Pakistan (50), and Turkey (45).

Last year, Tallinn University accepted 201 applicants to study here. By 18 August this year, we have already accepted 308 students. The final number of new international students will be confirmed by the beginning of September.
