Discussion Night: Freedom of Press in Myanmar

When: 09.10.2017, at 18:00-20:00
Place: Tallinn University, N-406

Spend your evening discussing about Myanmar, (the freedom of) press, and the lives of journalists in dangerous areas.

On 9 October at 18:00 in the Tallinn University Baltic Film, Media, Arts and Communication School Supernova Cinema (N406) relaxation area, an intriguing discussion evening entitled "Freedom of Press in Myanmar: the Role of News Media" takes place where young Myanmari journalists talk about their job, the freedom of press, and civil rights in their home country.

Lecturers of the TLU School of Humanities specialised in South-East Asia are also joining the panel discussion. The audience is welcome to participate.

The event is moderated by television journalist and TLU Associate Professor Indrek Treufeldt who recently took part in a documentary about Myanmar (EST: "Myanmar - tarkuse tuulajad").

This event is free and in English.

Organized by the MA students of Asian Studies programme as a part of the course Public Event on Asian Societies or Politics, which is taught by Associate Professor Karin Dean and Associate Professor Alexander Horstmann.
