The objective of the Tallinn University Student Union is to protect and represent students of Tallinn University at the university and state levels. The Student Union consists of a number of departments such as the Students Representative Council, made up of 17 democratically elected student representatives and Student Councils in each academic unit who defend the interests of students in academic matters and organize various events. The day-to-day activities of the Student Union are managed by the Executive Board, which implements decisions made by the Representative Council and also represents the Student Union within the University.
The Student Union Office supports the day-to-day activities of the Executive Board and the Representative Council. The Student Union Office makes various services available to students:
- Releasing ISIC- and ITIC-cards or Estonian Student Cards (if the card is ordered from the Minukool system)
- Renting out audio and lighting equipment
- Counselling in studies, student allowances and scholarships
- Selling university branded products (caps and rings etc)
The Student Union also has a Culture Club, Sports Club and International Club which organizes various events according to their area of interest.
