What is Erasmus+ ?
Erasmus+ is a higher education programme of the European Union (EU), what for you as TU student first and foremost means the opportunity to go on an exchange and study a semester in another European country and university (i.e. Erasmus+ Student Mobility for Studies within the programme countries).

Where to go (which countries) ?
All EU countries (including the United Kingdom) participate in the Erasmus+ Student Mobility for Studies within the Programme Countries. In addition also Turkey, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia are fully participating.

Where to go (which universities) ?
Student can apply for a partner university which has an Erasmus+ bilateral agreement with student’s TU academic unit (school/college) at student’s field of study.

In order to find out to which universities it is possible to go, click on TU Erasmus website Where to go. Thereafter, click on the active link “Please see the list of TU Schools/Colleges…” and then choose your TU academic unit. Map application then displays with which partner universities student’s academic unit has Erasmus+ bilateral agreements. In order to know where exactly you can go on your particular TU Study Programme, limit your options by choosing your TU Study Programme and study-level. After having found the university what interests you, click on the pinpoint of the university and a little dialogue-box displays you the main information about the bilateral agreement, like the partner university's language requirements, number of semesters possible to study there, university’s website etc.

Scholarship
All participating European countries are divided into two groups according to the living-cost level of the country. According to the scholarship rates of 2016/2017 ac.year, the monthly scholarship is 435€/month for lower living-cost countries, and 495€/month for higher and medium living-cost countries (scholarship financed by the European Commission). The Estonian Government lump-sum based scholarship is granted for all outgoing Erasmus+ exchange students and is 250 €. These scholarship rates shall be reviewed before the start of 2017/2018 ac.year, and thus minor changes are possible. All such changes will be made available on TU Erasmus+ website. In addition all TU students who have qualified for the need-base study allowance or special need-based allowance are entitled to Erasmus+ additional support of 200€/month.

Who can apply ?
All TU students are welcome to apply. By the time Erasmus+ exchange studies start, student needs to have graduated at least from the 1st year of bachelor’s studies

NB! Last semester MA students, wishing to write MA thesis abroad, and Doctoral studentsyou have the opportunity to write MA-thesis/doctoral thesis or research at partner university without the requirements to take courses there, and transfer those back to TU afterwards.
Condition: The approvals from thesis/research supervisor and from partner university have to be attached to the online-application, and last semester MA students have to defend their thesis at TU by the end of this same semester. Read more about the requirements here.
