Rottermann Quarter with KGB museum and Valutabar visit, 2 hrs

This tour introduces the old industrial architecture through the Rottermann's Quarter nearby the Old Tallinn and how this old area has been transformed to the part of modern city area in Tallinn today. In addition to the industrial history you will visit the KGB museum where you hear funny and not so funny stories from the time when KGB was present at the Viru hotel. The tour ends with the a visit to newly opened Valutabar in same building reminding the Soviet times.

Price: 17 €/person, min 15 persons and max 25 persons in group

Seaside stories of Tallinn, 4 hrs

This tour opens history of the Baltic Sea and introduces more closely the unique hangars building dated back to 1916. Tour starts with the bustour and introduces the old fisherman village in Viimsi, Yahting complex in Pirita built for Moscow Olympic Games regatta. The tour will continue in Old Town along the Medieval Mercants road by Maritime Museum with seaside walk towards Saeplane Hangars with a stop in Patarei Sea Fortress. The brand new museum in Seaplane Hangars, unique throughout the whole world, combines historical marine stars with interactive Seaplane Harbour’s simulators. Seaplane hangars, initially completed as part of Peter the Great’s Naval Fortress, are worth to visit as they are the world’s first reinforced concrete shell structures of such a great size. This exciting exhibition gives you a chance to participate in sea-going matters, as well as allowing you to test yourself and learn more about the sea.

The pearls of the National Park of Lahemaa, 7 hrs - CANCELLED

This tour takes you through the countryside and coastal lowlands of North Estonia to the National Park of Lahemaa. You will see the untouched nature, beautiful well-restored manors, small fisherman village and taste the genuine Estonian food. You will spend a lovely day out in the country side!

Price: 70 €/person; min. 15 persons and max 30 persons in 1 group

Price includes:

- 49-seater bus bus according to the programme

- Visits and entrances to Sagadi manor & Forest Museum and Palmse manor
- Lunch in local tavern

Cancellation and important deadlines

Deadline for social event bookings is June 1, 2013.
Deadline for changes and cancellation is June 10, 2013.
All changes and cancellations must be submitted in writing to the Conference Secretariat at balticstudies2013....at....tlu.ee. The Conference Secretariat will confirm your cancellation in writing.
