Frederick C. Lynden is Associate University Librarian for
Technical Services at Brown University Library in Providence,
R.I. He worked previously at the University of California at
Berkeley and Stanford University in California.
He has written extensively on the costs of library materials.
One of his articles, "Prices of Foreign Library Materials" (College
& Research Libraries, May 1988) won the Backwell North America
Scholarship Award.
Mr. Lynden was also the first recipient of the Martinus
Nijhoff
International West European Specialists Grant in 1986/87.
He has been a member of the Statistics Section of IFLA and is active
in ALA.
