CONCLUDING REMARKS

Community and collaboration media (CCM) is a part of Information and Communication technology, but it also covers communication and collaboration practices.
"New" as in new media can be seen as a "moving target" .
CCM constitute knowledge environments.
The role of the users has changed to that of a participant, member and prosumer (producer + consumer).
HCI mediates humans and machines, but CCM mediate people.
Technology and media can be seen as extensions of mind.
CCM is bottom-up, whille ICT is top-down.
CCM has broad implications to the society, culture, technology and economy...
Potential explanatory theories of CCM include system and network theories, self-organization, spatial and soft ontologies.
The technology and design is mature enough to allow building concepts from pre-fabricated pieces, rather than starting designing and engineering from the scratch.
