INFORMATION
SYSTEMS II Goal To learn practically the process of information system development (by working on a development project throughout the course) and obtain certain confidence in this area; to learn to work in modern system development environment (Oracle, Java Developer, or other); to reinforce the technology and system development skills acquired in previous courses (SQL, information architecture, others). Brief description Statement of the goal (the system solution to be developed). Planning of the development process. Study of the development environment. Choice of technologies. Design of system architecture. Prototype development. Development, testing, and integration of various structures and components of the information system. Study methods Work on design of information system throughout the course. Work forms: (1) demos and explanations by instructor; (2) modelling and generation of systems, using Oracle development tools; (3) review and discussion of the results of development work. Evaluation methods Project work done during the term 50% of the grade. Examination result 50% of the grade. Examination tests knowledge of information system development concepts and principles as well as the skills of using the development environment. Prerequisite MM6015 Information Systems I Mandatory literature Study material composed by the instructor. Supplementary literature A list is provided in the study material. |
