Launch of the Myanmar Education Project

Myanmar  Education Project is an initiative by Tallinn University School of Humanities and NGO Mondo in order to support children in Shan state, Myanmar, also known as Burma. The aim of the project is to promote awareness of issues and problems in Myanmar education and to cover the living and education expenses of 10 brilliant kids from low-income families in Shan areas.

The project is led by a group of students and lecturers from Tallinn University coming from different academic fields and from different countries.

To launch the project we are are inviting all interested to join us for the film & fundraising evening at Tallinn University as follows:

When: Tuesday, 11 December 2018 at 18:15

Where: Tallinn University, Astra building, room no A325. Please have a look at the campus map.

Programme:

  • Introduction to the project and Mondo's activities in Myanmar and video greeting from the volunteer in Shan state.
  • Film screening Drowning A Thousand Islands (31 minutes).
  • Discussion round on education in Myanmar with volunteers who have been in Myanmar and Burmese students studying in Tallinn University.

After the discussion, there will be Burmese snacks offered.
