• Academic quarter is a tradition according to which lectures, seminars and other study activities start a quarter-hour past the full hour.
  • Academic ceremonies start with the procession by which the Rector, Vice-Rectors and professors enter; ceremonies end after the hymn “Gaudeamus”. Everyone stands up for the entrance and departure of the procession.
  • Gaudeamus” is sung during academic events. First, third and fourth verse are sung during ceremonies and the second verse as a farewell to a university member.
  • Tallinn University follows an old academic tradition by which approval is expressed by feet-shuffling instead of clapping hands.
  • A response to a letter shall be provided without undue delay but not later than within 30 calendar days.
