Conference "People on the Move. Migrants, Refugees, and Citizenship Rights" takes place in Tallinn University on 7-8 February. It focuses on migration. Luule Sakkeus will give a presentation entitled "Migration from the Population Development Perspective". Conference is free of charge, only registration is needed.

New issue of Riigikogu Toimetised focuses on demographics of Estonia

On Wednesday, 5 December at 12, presentation of the new issue of Riigikogu Toimetised (RiTo) took place in the Riigikogu Exhibition Hall at Toompea. The new issue focuses on the demographics of Estonia.

In the new issue of RiTo, Professor of the School of Governance, Law and Society of Tallinn University Allan Puur, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor of Macroeconomics at the University of Tartu Raul Eamets, Labour and Social Policy Analyst at Praxis Center for Policy Studies Magnus Piirits and Senior Researcher of the Estonian Institute for Population Studies at the School of Governance, Law and Society of Tallinn University Martin Klesment write about the integrated population and employment predictions and Estonia’s choices until 2100. Michel Poulain  - IOM´s Global Migration Data Analysis Centre advisor in Djibouti

From 17 to 26 october, Michel POULAIN will be visiting Djibouti where he is supervising a project aiming to improve the well-being of more than 1000 children living on the street in the capital-city. That project is developed for the Ministère de la Femme et de la Famille and financed by the International Organization for Migration, considering that most of these children have a migration background. The final report will be discussed and an action plan developed during a workshop to be held on 18 October.
