The research on the future HP competencies was a part of the HPP-project (2006-2019) funded by EU, Central Baltic program (Skilled and socially inclusive region, speci c objective “More aligned vocational education and training”). One aim of the project was to conduct a survey about training needs and future skill demands in the sector of health promotion based on similar methodology in Estonia and Finland. Results will be used to develop a holistic training strategy for HP education and training (AHE and VET) providers on institutional level in both countries. (http://hpp.tlu.ee/)

This way the international competence standards can be better applied, taking into consideration the structural as well as situational challenges of public health in speci c countries.
