Ülle Soosalu defended her master thesis "Creating an Electronic Library Catalogue" March 25, 1998 at the Tallinn University of Educational Sciences (TUES). Her scientific advisor was professor Evi Rannap, oponents were Janne Andresoo, the chief librarian of the National Library of Estonia and Sirje Virkus, associate professor of the Department of Information Studies of the TUES.
The aim of the research was to find ways for fast conversation of the existing catalogues into an electronic catalogue implemented by the Consortium of Estonian Libraries network. One aim of the research was to find the best technical solutions for implementing the conversion project in Estonian scientific research libraries and to provide an overview of the different stages of the process.
