Location of Estonia in Europe
Estonia is a small country (45,227 km2) in northern Europe on the coasts of the Baltic Sea.  e surface is mostly low and
 at. Despite this, our highest hill, Suur Munamägi (318 m), is the highest point in the Baltic States.  e Baltic Sea surrounds Estonia from the north and west. Estonia is separated from Russia by Lake Peipsi-Pihkva (3,555 km2), the 5th largest lake in Europe, and only in the southeast corner
there is a small section of land border with Russia.  e southern boundary with Latvia runs along the Koiva/Gauja River and big mire complexes cross the border in the southwest.  e nearest seaside neighbor is Finland, 80 km north from us.
