DEAR
READER,
We live in an open, yet culturally interwoven world driven by rapidly changing technology and as a result, our traditional ways of thinking may no longer prove effective in the process of organising our lives.
We must be able to navigate our way through the increasingly large and complex flow of information and still acquire additional knowledge and skills.
We must be prepared to apply technologies, forms of communication and concepts of health care that are continuously undergoing transformation. In an open world we must be able to cope with different languages and cultures.
As democracy develops, critical social thinking becomes more
and more important and knowledge-based social debate becomes increasingly necessary. In this constantly changing mode of living, we must also maintain our own health, the health of others and the health of the surrounding environment. All of this requires relevant knowledge as well as wisdom in its application.
Thanks to our talented and energetic students, members of our research and teaching staff and other employees, I believe that it is appropriate that Tallinn University assumes the leading role in the promotion of smart lifestyle in Estonia.
Tallinn University is
an institution that has been revitalised through change. As a university with interdisciplinary and international orientation, we act in the interests of the integrated and sustainable development of estonian education, research, economy and culture.
Welcome
to Tallinn University!
