– On March18, 2005 by the Directive of the Parliament Tallinn Pedagogical University was renamed as Tallinn University. A number of higher educa- tion and academic institutions were consolidated into a single institution with this act.
– According to the new Development Plan 2015-2020 the university has
a leading role in promoting and developing an intelligent lifestyle in Estonia. As a result, the university has directed its resources and activities into
five focus fields:
educational innovation
cultural competences
digital and media culture healthy and sustainable lifestyle society and open governance
– International studying environment with around 700 foreign students from 54 countries and a significant number of foreign academics from 20 countries.
– Close academic collaboration with various international institutions abroad, and bilateral cooperation agreements with 54 partner universities in 29 countries worldwide.
– Unique English-based degree programmes in Europe.
– Individual approach to students, which also involves a major focus on thesis
supervision and the feedback process at all study levels.
– Our campus is located in the heart of city-centre with easy access to the international airport (4 km) and harbour (1 km).
– The university’s 21st century facilities include a modern library with study rooms, well-equipped classrooms and computer classes, laboratories and leisure areas throughout the campus.
– Baltic Film and Media School (BFM) of Tallinn University is Northern Europe’s only international film and media school with the 105 seat “Super- Nova” cinema hall. It incorporates a modern production centre equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and professional video, audio and post-pro- duction technology.
