Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. It is managed by Groundspeak Inc. with millions of geocaches worldwide.
This treasure hunt has different types of cache, with different difficulty levels, sizes, containers, and attributes. Cache owners will often describe their cache and additional context. There are two types of cache: These available for free and others that are only accessible for premium users. For librarians, and to maximize the visibility of their collections, we advise them to give access to their cache for free.
