2.1.10 The Different Sizes of Geocaches

Geocaches vary greatly in size and appearance. The size is shown on each cache page. Size types are:

  1. Nano is a common sub-type of a micro cache that is less than 10 ml and can only hold a small logbook.
  2. Micro is less than 100 ml. Examples: a 35 mm film canister or a tiny storage box typically containing only a logbook.
  3. Small is 100 ml or larger, but less than 1 L. Example: A sandwich-sized plastic container or similar.
  4. Regular is 1 L or larger, but less than 20 L. Examples: a plastic container about the size of a shoebox.
  5. Large is 20 L or larger. Example: A large bucket.
