Amir

What did you study, where are you from and when did you graduate?

I studied Human-Computer Interaction. I am from Iran, and I graduated in 2017.

What are the most important achievements in your life?

Having a higher education for me is one of my achievements. Also, having a record of finishing my Master's studies in 3 semesters.

What do you wish to accomplish in your current work?

At the moment I am a trainer/consultant and instruct IT engineers in Estonia to gain the required skills in software development and UX/UI design. In my current occupation I would like to say it is always better to gain more skills so that I will be able to foster it in Estonia better.

How have your university studies at TU helped you to achieve your goals?

In TU I have learnt the required skills in UX/UI design. And these skills helped me to solve the design problems in very easy ways by using different techniques that I learnt.

Why did you choose Estonia, Tallinn University and your specialty?

Estonia is a country with focus on IT. I have background in IT mostly on software development, and I was looking for a more design-oriented programme in Europe, and I found TU’s interesting programme Human-Computer Interaction which has a main focus on interaction and user experience design. Besides, in this programme TU offers a very good scholarship for students. So, I can say Estonia and TU is the right place for students specifically with IT skills.

What comes to your mind when you think back at your studies at TU?

Well, sometimes I used to get very stressed over the assignments that I had, but overall I can say happiness. The team that I worked with were very knowledgeable so they helped me a lot in my work and at the end I had a very good outcome.

Do you have any recommendations to people who want to start their university studies and are looking for the right specialty?

I would suggest everyone to find what they like, no matter what it is and how it is, pursue your dreams, set goals and achieve them one by one. I believe that if you work on the field that you like, then definitely you will be very successful.
