DAVC competition is open for electronic music and audiovisual works from young people aged 11–19, as well as TLU students.

 

The categories this year are:

  • Electronic dance music
  • Pop, urban
  • Experimental composition
  • Music video

 

Works can be submitted until 12.05.2024 on the project's new website www.davk.ee.

 

Since 2021 the BFM-led school youngsters project DAVC supported the Estonian Ministry of Education and Science in the framework of Tallinn Science- and Creativity School conducted in Spring 2023 four workshops on music production and audiovisual production. The lecturers were TLU BFM alumni Morten Endrik Milder, Jana Liisa Johannson, Roland Teeäär, Grete Teearu, Markus Hugo Rohtla as well as recognized musicians Maksim Adel and folktronica band Oopus members Johannes Ahun and Mari Meentalo. On June 8th the award ceremony of the 2023 the contest took place in BFM, first time also audience favourite prices were awarded that were collected during BOB film weeks as well as online. The achievements of the contest were presented on the same day also in ERR Klassikaraadio Delta programme.

Basic aim 

  • to create possibilities for young people to present their audio visual pieces and to develop their skills further. 
  • sharing of their creations via BFM music juniors activities in Estonia and internationally.

Content aim 

  • to cover digital audiovisual creation means broader 
  • while taking into account the variety of aestetic-style and genre differences between several fields, 
    • film music as conjoining field  
    • cross-over creations.

2024 competition

Previously unpublished original works created with digital instruments are qualified for the competition.

 

Vocalists and instrumentalists can be featured – in this case, the author must indicate the role of the co-performers in the registration form.

 

The length of the submitted audio clip is up to 5 minutes and the file format is waveform (WAV).

DAVC is an extended project for the previously held TLU Digital music competition. From 2021, the project has been organised with the support of Estonian Ministry of Education and Science in the framework of Tallinn Science- and Creativity School. 

 

The team consists of lecturers, students and alumni of the BFM IKUMUMU curriculum:
