Young Composers Lab
The YCL is really a lab concert where compositions by students as well as their short film music sound designs are presented but also pop/rock music student band performances, since 2014 also the award winning pieces of the Digital Composition Contest winners.
Initiator and main organizer of the YCL is musicology lecturer, composer and musician Gerhard Lock in collaboration with sound design module head, lecturer and musician Avo Ulvik.
Since 2016 the concert series Treffpunkt takes place presenting audio-visual compositions by TLU BFM YCL, EAMT Electronic Music Studio and Tartu Heino Eller Music School students. Initiators and organizers are Malle Maltis and Hans-Gunter Lock (EANT) and Gerhard Lock (TLU BFM).
The concert series Treffpunkt is named after the electronic music pioneer K. Stockhausen’s textual composition. Its aim is to present Estonian newest electro-acoustic and electronic sound art as well as classical electronic music and audio-visual pieces from different authors. In the focus of this series is student music.
