Over the last few decades, we have witnessed the expansion of the humanities way beyond their previous confines and the rise of a great number of new transdisciplinary approaches, such as creative humanities, digital humanities, energy humanities, environmental humanities, geohumanities, medical humanities, technological humanities, and so on. All these approaches point toward a new generation of humanities knowledge which has been tentatively called ‘integrative humanities’.

The 12th Winter School of GSCSA invites all participants to critically explore the future prospects of integrative humanities in building a transdisciplinary knowledge regime, appropriate for the study of the new constellation of the entangled human, technological, and natural worlds.

Therefore, through this open call we are seeking moderators and curators to help students explore the future prospects of integrative humanities further and to introduce new ways of exploring arts and humanities in the following Winter School topics and ideas:

  • artistic research, creative humanities, digital humanities, energy humanities, environmental humanities, geohumanities, medical humanities, technological humanities;
  • communicating integrative humanities research results with non-discursive, artistic research practice and tackling these research questions from a new artistic perspective

This Winter School favors diversity in formats. We seek:

  • workshop curators,
  • seminar moderators,
  • lecture moderators.

The language of the Winter School is English.

The Winter School will be held on 23 January - 27 January 2023.

If necessary, travel and accommodation will be provided by the organizer.

To express your interest, please provide a proposal and/or an abstract fit for the Winter School topics along with the expected fee to the address eva.kruuse@tlu.ee.

The deadline for submission of workshop curators is 23.12.2022.

The deadline for submission of seminar and lecture moderator applications is 23.12.2022.
