Tallinn University organises various competitions to encourage and recognise the research and applied activities of its researchers, doctoral students and students.

The Research Administration Office of Tallinn University organises the competition for the most outstanding publication, textbook and creative project with the aim to motivate Tallinn University’s staff to conduct high-level research and creative work and to encourage them to introduce their professional achievements.

In cooperation with the Tallinn City Enterprise Department, the University holds an applied research and development competition.

The University also holds an annual wide competition of the research papers of students. The aim of the competition is to value and stimulate research among students and recognise students who have achieved outstanding research results and their supervisors. In 2005–2015, the most entrepreneurial researchers and schools and colleges were recognised. The winners were determined on the basis of performance indicators.
