School Development Program in Moldova
In cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Academy of Education Leadership is implementing two programs in Moldova aimed at strengthening schools' capacity to achieve their development goals.
The first initiative launched was a course for school development mentors, designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to foster school culture. An introductory meeting took place in late August, followed by four intensive seminar days in September that delved into the nature of school culture and simulated the schools' journey through the development program. The course continues in the coming months through webinars. In November 2025, participants visited Estonia to experience the mentor's role in shaping a school culture open to change. The course concludes in December, and from January onwards, most participants will begin working as supporters of school teams.
The second step involves a development program for school teams based on the "School of the Future" methodology. Teams from five schools are participating in the program; these teams include teachers alongside school leaders. The focus lies on analyzing school culture and supporting learning motivation. Each school is supported by both local mentors and consultants who are school leaders from Estonia.
These programs establish a solid foundation for developing school culture in Moldova and help create an environment where learner motivation and school development gain new momentum.
