LAHEThe children’s e-assessment tool (LAHE) is designed to support kindergarten teachers in assessing the development of five-year-old children in five areas. From the spring of 2023, three LAHE tests and introductory tasks in Estonian and Russian are available to all teachers in EIS.

The e-assessment tool includes the following areas: cognitive processes, learning, language, maths and social skills. The Home test contains age-appropriate tasks for five-year-olds in the areas of language, maths, learning skills and cognitive processes, and allows to determine the areas and topics the child needs help with. The Shop test contains the same areas, but with more complex tasks, enabling to determine what the child is particularly talented in. The Playground test includes social skills tasks at an age-appropriate level for five-year-olds. All tests contain original illustrations and audio instructions and are designed to be used on a tablet.

Using LAHE tests

LAHE tests are available in the EIS. Before using the tests, it is compulsory to watch an online training video and read the LAHE manual. The manual provides an overview of LAHE's structure and principles of use. There are also instructions for using LAHE tests in EIS.

The LAHE tests have been commissioned by the Ministry of Education and Research and developed by the Education and Youth Board in cooperation with experts from Tallinn University.
