Data on the university's research activities and trends can be obtained from several sources. The Estonian Research Information System (ETIS) reflects the university as a whole and allows users to view the profile of each individual researcher. Researchers active in international research networks are also featured in the global research information system ORCID. Useful statistics can be found on Teadussilm (Estonian Research in numbers), an online platform that aggregates data on the funding of Estonian research and development, research projects, research institutions and researchers, publications, industrial property, and doctoral thesis defenses.

To monitor the implementation of the research and development goals set out in the university's strategic plan, we have agreed upon key performance indicators along with overviews reflecting important trends, which are displayed on the university's website. International university rankings also compile data on several significant trends.
