Other formats
In 2021, M. Küttim, J. Terasmaa, and T. Koff served as experts in producing a series of videos (9) for the Tallinn municipality about the natural values of the green capital, titled "Rohelise pealinna pärlid." (LINK)
The format for rewatchable videos includes the Tallinn University 1-minute lectures (LINK). These short videos feature scientists explaining a process, concept, or current event. The videos are broadcast on National Broadcasting and can also be found online. Over the years, people from the Institute of Ecology have produced 36 such lectures. The most active lecturers have been J. Terasmaa with seven and M. Kangur with six, L. Puusepp and H. Tõnisson with four 1-minute lectures, each covering different scientific topics in an easily understandable format.
The Institute of Ecology seminars have been held for 30 years following a consistent schedule—every Friday with breaks only during summer and around New Year. Over the past decade, there have been increasingly more guest speakers from other research institutions, and the seminars are also livestreamed on Facebook with the option for later viewing.
