PostDoc Scholarship

We are an interdisciplinary team from the School of Natural Sciences and Health at Tallinn University, which is working on environmental issues in urban space by uniting the knowledge and approaches from different environmental disciplines, incl. ecology, environmental management, architecture and city planning, as well as environmental anthropology and sociology. Bridging natural sciences, social sciences and humanities, the group focuses on topics such as:

  • environmental behavior and communication (especially on competing explanations for environmental degradation in the city and person-environment engagement incl. environmental awareness)
  • environmental justice (distributive and procedural justice e.g. green space accessibility, participatory environmental and city planning)
  • urban environmental anthropology (incl. topics such as environmental activism, climate change effects on urban communities, human-environment interactions in urban settings)
  • ecosystem services (with specific focus on biodiversity and cultural ecosystem services such as recreation, well-being, and health)

We would like to welcome a postdoctoral researcher to join our working group at Tallinn University, focusing on one of the above mentioned fields and exemplary topics. The application deadline for the Mobilitas+ PostDoc scholarship is 31 January 2020. If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please contact us by email incl. your CV and a short text indicating your proposed research theme (500 words). Please send these materials to Bianka Plüschke-Altof (pluescbi@tlu.ee) until the 5 January 2020. We will then jointly develop the full application with the chosen candidate according to the Mobilitas provisions.
