Tallinn University Male Choir

Choir conductors are Indrek Vijard and Ka Bo Chan.

Tallinn University Male Choir’s musical activities include performances at Tallinn University events, concert tours both in Estonia and abroad, and collaboration with various musicians, such as Tanel Padar, the Police and Border Guard Orchestra, Tõnis Mägi, Marvi Vallaste, Kaire Vilgats, etc. We are an active member of the Estonian Male Singing Society and have participated as a selected male choir in the General Song Festival and the Youth Song and Dance Festival. Male Choir’s members can participate in billiards and bowling tournaments, play poker or ride go-karts. Choir management also organizes sauna evenings and other social events for members in the choir-managed private sauna - Rüütli Kelder.

The Male Choir is always looking for enthusiastic and active singers to join its ranks.

For new applicants, the ability to be able to sing in tune is required, but if you can't read sheet music, you will be taught on the spot.

To join Tallinn University Male Choir, you must be at least 18 years old. Being enrolled or alumni of Tallinn University is not required. Please send an application in free form to address: juhatus@meeskoor.com

History

Our choir considers itself a successor of the Male Choir of the Tallinn Pedagogical Institute, founded in 1955.

1) In 2015, we won second place at the International Male Choir Festival in Cornwall, UK;
2) In 2017, we earned a silver diploma at the International Choir Competition in St. Petersburg;
3) In the Tallinn Choir Festival 2019, we participated with the EMLS Boys' Choir
"Kalev" men;
4) In 2021, we participated in the Leevi Madetoja Male Choir Competition in Finland, this time in the highest, A-category, and achieved third place among twelve participants;
5) In 2024, we won a gold medal at the choir competition held in Bratislava with the EMLS Boys' Choir "Kalev" men. The choir was also awarded the grand prix prize of the competition;
6) In 2025, we won a gold medal at the 14th Pau Casalsi Competition with the
EMLS Boys' Choir "Kalev" men at the choir competition held in Barcelona.
