Application deadlines for Bachelor's programmes 

Academic Requirements

Bachelor level (BA) applicants are required to have completed their secondary education or corresponding qualification and possess university eligibility. At least 60% of the possible maximum result is expected.

Tallinn University Requirements and Procedure for the Admission to Degree Studies

Required Documents

must be submitted with the application on the online application system by the application deadline*:

• Copy of Secondary Education Certificate/Diploma (an official translation is requested if the document is not in English); 
• Transcript of Records/Academic Transcript (an official translation is requested if the document is not in English);
• Proof of English language Proficiency;
• Copy of the identification page of the passport;
• Specific documents required for the programme you are applying to;
• Copy of a Sworn Affidavit to Confirmation of Name if the applicant's name stated in his/her passport differs from the name on any of the other required documents.

Please also read the country-specific requirements. There may be specific requirements of which documents need to be uploaded.

* Applicants will be given feedback in the online application system after the required documents have been submitted online and the application fee has been received. It is advised to submit the application and pay the application fee as soon as possible so as to have the chance to upload missing documents based on feedback by the Admission Specialists before the admission deadline. 

** Tallinn University has the right not to admit applicants who are minors (under the age of 18) by the beginning of their studies. 

Sending documents:

Applicants who have successfully passed their entrance exam, may be asked to send their educational documents to Tallinn University by post. Specific instructions will be given by the admission specialists to each applicant individually via the online application system. 

Whether any documents are required by post can also be determined by examining Tallinn University's country-specific requirements which may state, for example, that the applicant's Transcript of Records must be sent to Tallinn University by the awarding institution or that a document needs to be certified in a particular way. 

Underage students

We recommend applying once you have reached the age of 18.

Students under the age of 18 (hereinafter referred to as “underage students”) have limited legal capacity under Estonian law.

Under Estonian law, parents have both the right and the obligation to care for their minor children. Parental custody includes the right and responsibility to care for the child, manage the child’s property, and make decisions concerning the child.
Certain matters, such as receiving medical treatment, dealing with public authorities, entering into contracts, and managing financial resources, may require the involvement or consent of a parent or legal guardian. Therefore, if you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must accompany you and stay with you in Estonia until you reach the age of 18.

Please note that Tallinn University has no legal responsibilities for underage students. In order to start studies at Tallinn University if you are under 18 before the start of the academic year, one of the following arrangements must be made: 

a) Your parent (legal guardian) comes and stays with you in Estonia until you turn 18, 
or
 b) Your parent (legal guardian) formally appoints a person (authorised representative) who represents you in Estonia until you turn 18. 

Therefore, three sets of documents will be required at a later stage of the admission process, once the applicant has received a conditional study offer (these documents are not required during the pre-evaluation phase):

1. A copy of the passports of both parents or the legal guardian(s) which is notarized and certified by an apostille or legalised;

2. A copy of the birth certificate + official English translation which is notarized and certified by an apostille or legalised;

3. a) A copy of the Letter of Consent, issued by the parents or legal guardian(s) and signed by both parents (legal guardians) confirming that they will accompany the child in Estonia and take full responsibility for the child until he/she turns 18. The copy of the Letter of Consent uploaded to the application must be notarised and apostilled or legalised, as applicable, and must include an official English version or translation. Please note that your parent (guardian) has to independently acquire a legal basis for staying in Estonia (the university can invite the student only).

or

b) A copy of the Power of Attorney issued by your parents or legal guardian(s) appointing an authorised representative in Estonia who will be fully responsible for ensuring the child's well-being, handling any legal matters that may arise, and providing the necessary support throughout the child's stay in Estonia until they turn 18. The copy of the Power of Attorney uploaded to the application must be notarised and apostilled or legalised, as applicable, and must include an official English version or translation. The authorised representative must reside in Estonia and must have the original or a copy of the Power of Attorney in their possession.

Admission exams

Admission exams take place several times during the application period. You will be contacted by the academic unit once your application has been reviewed by the admission committee of your chosen programme.

A description of the entrance exam can be found on the website of the programme you are interested in. 

Minimum programme enrolment threshold: 65 points out of 100.

Please note that the admission exam may include several parts. Academic units may establish a minimum positive result for the assessment of  admission exams or their individual parts. The descriptions of its content, assessment criteria, and the proportions forming the total result of the admission exam are published on the programme’s website.

The academic unit has the right to deny a student candidate access to the next part of the exam if the candidate has not completed the previous part or has received a negative result for it.

The university has the right to ask the applicant to show identification with the purpose of identity verification and record entrance exams that take place via video call.
