The Esko brothers' short film "Double Turbo" is now free to watch for everyone
Twin brothers Romet and Raul Esko, known as the Eskobros, released their crazy short film "Double Turbo" on YouTube. The film was completed as a thesis of the Baltic Film, Media and Arts Institute (BFM).
The movie was successfully financed through the Hooandja platform, raising over 10,000 euros, and premiered in 2022 at Coca-Cola Plaza. Despite early success, wider distribution was delayed due to negotiations, but now the creators of the film have decided to bring the work to viewers for free.
"We decided to make the film available to fans without restrictions," explains director Romet Esko. "We want everyone to enjoy our vision, and Topelt Turbo is like a beacon that shows that hard work and passion lead to success."
"Our inspiration came from classic street racing movies, especially the 'Fast and Furious' series. Although we use familiar clichés, the world we created is a completely reversed version of this genre," adds Raul Esko.
The film participated in the PÖFF Shorts National Competition Program and was nominated at the Estonian Film and TV Awards (2023) in the short film category. The music was created by Manna and Heleza, and the film also features Erki Laur, Jüri Pootsmann and Merilin Mälk. The film stars the well-known twin sisters Maria and Mari-Liis Kriisa, and several well-known faces of Estonian entertainment will appear, including Erki Laur, Erik Orgu, Jüri Pootsmann, Merilin Mälk, Markus Luik, Mart Toome, Genka, Alo Kurvits, Martti Hallik and others. The music for the film has been composed by Manna and Heleza.
