BFM has the first Dolby Atmos sound studio in the Baltics
Sound can move in three-dimensional space, creating a sense of height and depth.
Dolby Atmos is the new audio standard in the cinema world. It provides a better and more immersive audio experience by allowing sound to move in three-dimensional space, creating a sense of height and depth. The ability to mix spatially increases the experience of the cinema experience, making it possible to bring the viewer really into the center of the event. This effect is provided by dozens of speakers arranged around the sound director.
Behind the screen is LCR+LFE (low-frequency effect speaker or subwoofer). Six speakers on each side, 12 speakers on the ceiling + two low-frequency speakers. So in total there are 36 speakers in the room, which is the minimum requirement for a Dolby Atmos Cinema studio.
Speakers placed in this way enable extremely accurate and detailed sound mixing. BFM sound studio is the first sound studio in the Baltics with Dolby Atmos cinema capability.
During the renovation of the sound studio, a new sound console was also installed there. The Avid S6 console is a professional audio mixing console used to manage large projects. This allows the sound director to control his project quickly and efficiently.
Avid S6 is compatible with Pro Tools software, which forms a strong whole and is the standard in many sound studios around the world.
Future professionals learn film sound direction using the console, and with the acquired experience, they will not get into trouble in other sound studios.
