BeScaled Batch 2 Kicks Off with a Focus on Real-World Challenges in Defence and Resilience
On 2 November 2026, the second batch of the BeScaled pre-accelerator programme officially began with a hybrid kick-off seminar connecting Tallinn University and Häme University of Applied Sciences. The first expert to deliver a workshop was Rasmus Basilier, an experienced defence technology mentor and NATO DIANA Lead Mentor.
The BeScaled programme brings together startups interested in exploring the potential of their products and services in defence, security, and crisis resilience markets. Through expert guidance, mentoring, and practical workshops, the programme helps companies improve, design, and validate their solutions, understand end-user needs, and develop realistic strategies for entering new markets.
The opening seminar focused on the strategic context of defence innovation and the challenges startups face when bringing new solutions to market. Rasmus Basilier emphasised the importance of understanding the problems that end-users are trying to solve, rather than focusing solely on the technology itself.
During interactive discussions, participating companies explored how to communicate the value of their solutions, identify potential customers, discuss their ideas, and build relationships within the defence and resilience sectors. The seminar also addressed market-entry opportunities, funding, and the importance of building trust with potential partners and customers.
