Teachers’ stress and the associated intention to leave the profession are challenges in education worldwide. However, many sources of stress are an inherent part of the school environment and cannot be completely eliminated. Researchers at Tallinn University therefore investigated whether teachers’ stress mindset could be influenced through an intervention.

At the Research Club, Anna-Liisa Jõgi will introduce a seven-week online intervention and present the results of its evaluation. The study showed that the intervention changed participants’ stress mindset: the view of stress as potentially enhancing became stronger, while the view of stress as harmful decreased. However, the intervention had no effect on perceived stress levels or stress coping.

The study was conducted by Anna-Liisa Jõgi, Anneli Jartsev, Aire Raidvee, Karel Kulbin, and Mikk Granström. Anna-Liisa Jõgi will present the study at the Research Club.

The event is open to everyone interested. The Zoom link will be sent to registered participants.
