Dr. Wang Rudong led a talk at CITU on Chinese Language Teaching - From the Perspective of Korean and Japanese Learners of Chinese.

Based on his previous experience of teaching Chinese language in South Korea, Dr. Wang illustrated the differences in teaching Chinese language to Korean and Japanese learners of Chinese language. The crucial point lies in the fact that Mandarin Chinese has greatly changed in words, while Korean and Japanese languages loaned much of Chinese words and the loaned words in the two languages are still active, with some changes though.

But Estonian language is a member of Finno-Ugric family, which has little relationship with Sino-Tibetan languages where Chinese is believed to belong to. Thus Dr. Wang raised a question as how to teach Chinese language more effectively to Estonians and is there any practicality to put textbooks on the agenda for Estonian learners of Chinese?
