Estonian education in the spotlight at Expo
During the EXPO Knowledge and Learning Week, a high-level Estonian education delegation will visit Dubai and many education solutions will be on display. The programme of Expo 2020 Dubai includes a Knowledge and Learning Week on 12-16 December. For Estonia, it is the first time to showcase education at the world fair.
The Day of the Universities brings together people from different disciplines to discuss some of the key societal challenges. The researchers from Tallinn University, Prof. Kairit Tammets and Dr. Renu Geetha Bai will make presentations in the second section: “How can we reduce both the material and mental resources in order to use them more efficiently?”
On the day of educational technology, a presentation will be held in the Estonian pavilion showcasing the solutions by different educational technology companies as well as discussions on student-based, quality education of the future. PhD Grete Arro, a specialist in educational and environmental psychology and researcher at Tallinn University, will moderate a discussion between Estonian education technology companies and students from over the world on how using digital technology can make learning more efficient.

As a member of the official delegation of the Minister of Education and Research, Rector Tõnu Viik will visit universities of Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai Future Foundation, Sharjah Private Education Authority’ and Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park. In addition he will meet His Excellency Hussein Bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, the Minister of Education of the UAE and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the current Ruler of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
