The body weight managers on wheels, the Vegetable Truck of the National Institute for Health Development is touring Estonia and gives out free tasty food made from vegetables. On April 16th between 11AM and 4PM, the truck will visit Tallinn University. Be quick, as they serve only 300 portions!
Tallinn University is a partner of the National Institute for Health Development by helping them compose national eating and movement recommendations. The official recommendations will be published in November.
The latest research shows that obesity has increased in Estonia with close to 60% of adult men and nearly 50% of adult women have too much body weight. Only 20% of men and a third of the women eat the recommended amount of vegetables. A little over 50% of people eat the recommended amount of fruit.
You should eat at least 500 grams of fruit and vegetables a day. Three out of five portions should consist of vegetables and two of fruit. You should also see that you have five daily meals; this is the easiest way to keep your weight under control. This is also best for the environment.
