Introduction

Marju Medar is an experienced social work expert and academic. She graduated from the University of Tartu in 1982 specializing in special education. She obtained her Research Master’s degree from the University of Tartu in 1996 and her PhD in Social Work from Tallinn Pedagogical University in 2004.

Since 1996, she has served as an expert and project consultant, bringing over 20 years of experience in higher education, including both degree programs and professional development courses. Having worked as a practitioner in both education and social sectors, she has led numerous Estonian and international R&D projects. Her work has resulted in comprehensive guidelines for case-based network management, professional training for rehabilitation teams, and community-based health promotion.
