Abubakari Fusheini

Abubakari Fusheini researches how school choice shapes parents’ perceptions of fairness and meritocracy. His work is important for understanding how education policies can influence inequality, political attitudes, and support for the welfare state.

His expertise lies in education policy, political economy, inequality, and the study of how educational institutions shape social and political attitudes. His research aims to provide evidence that can help policymakers understand the wider social and political consequences of education policies and design fairer systems. He is currently a Junior Research Fellow in the EDUMERIT project at Tallinn University, where his doctoral research examines school choice, fairness, meritocracy, redistribution, and welfare-state attitudes across European contexts.
