Siiri Nesterenko

Siiri Nesterenko is a Junior Research Fellow in the Health Behaviour and Wellbeing doctoral programme. Her doctoral research focuses on the associations between maternal perinatal stress and depression risk with the energy metabolism of human milk-derived cells and human milk microbiota.

She holds a Master of Science degree in Psychology from Tallinn University. The aim of her doctoral thesis is to establish a scientific foundation for biomarker-based early prevention, supporting the well-being of mothers and children while reducing the societal burden of mental health issues. Her research is a collaborative project between Tallinn University and the National Institute of Chemical Physics and Biophysics (NICPB).
