Are You Ready for the EU AI Act? Key Concepts, Risks, and Compliance Requirements

Who is this training for?

The target group includes decision-makers and professionals in IT companies, ministries, government agencies, and municipalities who use or plan to use AI solutions in their work. Participation requires belonging to the target group and having an interest in understanding the risks and responsibilities associated with the use of AI.

What are the learning outcomes?

Upon completing the training, you will understand the core logic of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act) and be able to distinguish between different types of AI models and systems, including high-risk and prohibited uses. You will be able to identify your organisation’s likely role under the Act and understand the main obligations associated with that role.

How and what will you learn?

Course content:

• Scope of the AI Act: what the regulation covers and what it does not, including exemptions and lightly regulated use cases.
• AI concepts and categories: AI models and systems and their classification (general-purpose models, models with systemic risk, high-risk systems, and prohibited uses).
• Roles under the AI Act: the possible role of an organisation (e.g. provider, importer, deployer) and the main requirements associated with each role.
• Compliance in practice: AI classification, identifying your role, documentation, following instructions for use, human oversight, transparency, conformity assessment and CE marking, post-market monitoring, and incident handling.
• Transparency requirements for lower-risk AI.
• Timeline of the AI Act: when diferent requirements start to apply.
