Combatants for Peace: Perspectives on the Israel-Palestine Conflict from the Ground

This panel brings together Palestinian and Israeli members of the grassroots Combatants for Peace movement to share their experiences and perspectives on ending the Israeli occupation and the wider system of settler-colonialism as a necessary condition for achieving a just peace. The discussion will examine current realities and consider which forms of peacebuilding and collective action are most critical in the present context.

Against the backdrop of Israel’s ongoing genocidal campaign in Gaza and escalating violence and displacement in the West Bank, the panel will consider efforts to confront and dismantle systemic forms of violence, including occupation, apartheid, and the destruction and displacement of Palestinian communities. Rather than focusing on individual events or actors, the discussion seeks to situate current developments within their broader political and historical context, address the structural roots of the conflict, and foreground the experiences of those working to transform the systems that sustain violence.
