iCal calendarThis research seminar focuses on the work-in-progress article that studies the Syrian activists’ experiential knowledge of the Syrian Revolution. This work found a generative tension emerging from doing research with people who are situated both in violence and nonviolence. Puzzling over this situatedness – impossible people in an impossible revolution – matters because it asks us to consider, following Judith Butler, how lives can be made so livable and unlivable at the same time. So doing, it disrupts narratives of the Syrian revolution that operate with binaries of revolution-war, non-violence-violence, and provides – by relying on feminist and decolonial perspectives – a more nuanced reading of the Syrian revolution.
We kindly ask you to register for the seminar in the upper registration form.
Seminar will be held in English.
