HCI is an interdisciplinary research field that studies the interaction between people and digital technologies, with the aim of creating technologies that are useful, usable, and meaningful for people.

INTERACT is one of the leading international scientific conferences in the field of HCI. It is organised under the auspices of Technical Committee 13 of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP TC13), which promotes international research collaboration and development in Human–Computer Interaction. The conference brings together researchers, practitioners, doctoral students, industry professionals, and public-sector representatives from around the world to present the latest research, share experiences, and discuss future directions in HCI.

INTERACT 2027 is organised by Tallinn University in collaboration with an international Programme and Organising Committee. The conference theme, "Meanings and Experiences", invites participants to reflect on how people create meanings and experiences through interactions with technology, and how these interactions shape society.

According to Prof. David Lamas, Co-General Chair of INTERACT 2027, the conference provides Estonia with an opportunity to become a meeting place for the international HCI community and to host some of the field's most important discussions: “Technology shapes almost every aspect of our lives today, and Human–Computer Interaction helps us understand how to make this development meaningful and beneficial for people. INTERACT brings together researchers and practitioners who study and address these questions, and in 2027 these discussions will take place in Tallinn.”

The conference will be held at Tallinn University, providing an opportunity to introduce international guests to both the university and the city of Tallinn.

Preparations for INTERACT 2027 are already underway. The Call for Papers was just announced and will be followed by the introduction of keynote speakers, the general conference programme, and further information on participation.

The official conference website is available at interact2027.org. The website provides up-to-date information about the conference, important dates, participation opportunities, and organisational updates.
