David Jose Ribeiro Lamas

David has vast international and multicultural experience. He worked in the USA, UK, Portugal, Cape Verde, Mozambique and recently in Afghanistan and Estonia.

At Tallinn University, David bootstrapped the academic direction of Human-Computer Interaction, the masters in Human-Computer Interaction and in Interaction Design, run online jointly with Cyprus University of Technology.

David also has a solid project participation record, taking part, leading and supporting his team in various research, development, educational and training projects. He supervises mostly doctoral students.

David is the chair of the Estonian chapter of ACM's SIGCHI (http://sigchi.org) and an expert member of IFIP's TC13 (http://ifip-tc13.org). He contributes to the worldwide HCI community serving as chair of events such as INTERACT 2019, NordiCHI 2020, AfriCHI 2021, ICIDS 2021 & 2022 and soon ECCE 2025. He is a keen organiser of doctoral consortia and other events onboarding young researchers into to field.
